The Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation was established by the Texas Restaurant Association in 1994 as a 501c3 non-profit organization, to focus on providing the necessary resources to help restaurateurs confront educational and labor challenges with the latest innovations in education, technology, and training.

The TRA Education Foundation's mission is to provide educational opportunities to build and maintain a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas.

Texas ProStart

Primary beneficiary

Texas ProStart prepares students for careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. They gain valuable restaurant and foodservice skills through their academic and workplace experience.

Sponsored by the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation, Texas ProStart takes high school culinary and restaurant management to the next level by providing the full support of the Texas restaurant industry to over 255 high schools reaching over 20,000 students each year.

El Centro College Food and Hospitality Institute

The Food and Hospitality Institute, located at the El Centro College Downtown Campus, is the choice for those who want a great, hands-on education at a fraction of the cost of for-profit culinary schools.

The program's in-the-kitchen training with experienced professionals, combined with strong industry connections, gives students the expertise to help them land the job they want — and set them apart from the competition.

CitySquare WorkPaths Hospitality Training Program

CitySquare is a Dallas non-profit organization that fights the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy and friendship.

To provide its clients a career path, CitySquare provides a five-week hospitality training program for men and women ages 18 and older. Graduates and interns of the hospitality training program also operate the CitySquare Café, which serves breakfast and lunch on the campus of the CitySquare Opportunity Center in South Dallas.

Food in Fashion will be presented by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, Monday, Mar. 18, 2019, at The Joule, Dallas.

Proceeds benefit career-development programs in the restaurant and hospitality industries.

Our primary beneficiary is the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation. A 501 (c)(3) charitable non-profit [Tax ID: 74-2732907], TRAEF sponsors ProStart, a restaurant workforce-development program in public schools.

A portion of proceeds will also be donated to El Centro College's Food and Hospitality Institute and CitySquare's WorkPaths Hospitality Training Program.
