Food in Fashion benefits the TRAEF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and its ProStart culinary career program in Dallas ISD high schools. 

Established in 1994 by the Texas Restaurant Association, the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The TRAEF provides resources to help restaurateurs confront educational and labor challenges with the latest innovations in education, technology, and training.


The Foundation's mission is to provide opportunities for restaurant careers in Texas. The organization's flagship program is ProStart, an industry-based, two-year high school culinary arts and restaurant management curriculum. .


ProStart prepares students for careers in the restaurant and food service industry. These students gain valuable restaurant and food service skills through their academic and workplace experience.

ProStart takes high school culinary and restaurant management to the next level by working with 240 Texas high schools, annually reaching 25,000 students.

Nine Dallas ISD high schools offer the ProStart curriciulum. Through TRAEF, proceeds from Food in Fashion are dedicated to these local programs.
